30 Hours Free Government Funding

The government funds local nurseries and other childcare providers to offer early education places free for 3 to 4 year olds in settings that are registered with and inspected by Ofsted. We have signed up to be part of this scheme and we are now receiving a basic amount per hour for our 3 to 4 year olds, up to a maximum of 30 hours per week. Eligable 3 to 4 year old children will receive the grant funding following the first term after their 3rd birthday.

The scheme is outside of Highnam Day Nursery’s pricing plan and the funding covers only basic childcare costs and does not include consumables such as drinks, any meals, nappies, wipes or other accessories.

2 year old funding is applied for through Gloucester County Council as this is subject to individual criteria.

Tax Free Childcare

We have also registered ourselves with the TAX Free childcare scheme which is ran through the government. For every £8 you pay into your childcare account, the government will pay in an extra £2. You can get up to £2000 government support per child, per year towards your childcare costs. If you have a child with a disability, you can receive up to £4000 per child. They can then use this money to pay your childcare provider.

The government has started inviting parents to apply for Tax-Free Childcare.
